Electrolysis: how long does a course take?
The first 2–3 months: initial clearance
A first full clearance can take around 2–3 months. Hair previously removed with wax or tweezers gradually reappears; not all hairs are visible at once.
Following regrowth
Appointment length changes with density and regrowth. Some thick or hormonal hairs may need repeated treatment, with the schedule adjusted along the way.
Overall duration
The salon’s usual planning guide is 1.5–2 years, sometimes longer. Area, density, growth cycles, hormones and previous removal methods affect the duration. This is not a guaranteed deadline.
Supporting your treatment
Do not pluck hair between appointments; trim it as advised. Attend regularly and follow aftercare instructions. Treating existing follicles does not prevent new hormonally influenced hair appearing in future.
